Jeremy H. Smith

Jeremy H. Smith holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Indiana University. He has been a professor of English at Otterbein University, Westerville, Ohio, since 1988. An advocate of the investigative methods of philosophical phenomenology, he has explored in his research and writings questions of the meaning of human experience that rear up in the cultural forms of literature and religion. His scholarship on African literature and religion is rooted in his knowledge and appreciation of the interrelations of literature, religion, philosophy, and history in African culture
