Colleen R. Derr

Dr. Colleen Derr serves as President of Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University. Before being elected president, Dr. Derr served as Associate Professor of Congregational Spiritual Formation. She developed a Master in Child, Youth, and Family Ministry and co-leads the Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Formation. Prior to coming to Wesley Seminary, Dr. Derr served as Director of Children’s Ministry for The Wesleyan Church and as a local church children’s pastor. She developed a catechism program for The Wesleyan Church, Building Kids Faith, a preteen discipleship resource, Explore, a host of training and leadership development tools, articles, presentations, and blogs. Dr. Derr is an ordained elder in The Wesleyan Church. Colleen is passionate about partnering with and equipping local church leaders as they develop ministries where all their people—children, teens, and adults—experience spiritual transformation that leads to holiness of heart and life.
